What started as helping friends organize their spaces grew into a mission to reimagine how people interact with their garages.
The idea for moon-puffin emerged from a simple observation. We noticed that most people viewed their garages as necessary chaos, something to tolerate rather than optimize.
But garages represent significant square footage in a home. They hold tools, equipment, seasonal items, and memories. When organized properly, they become functional extensions of living space.
We started small, helping neighbors and family members tackle their garage challenges. Each project taught us something new about storage psychology, spatial efficiency, and the unique ways different households use their spaces.
We don't believe in universal solutions. Every garage has different demands based on who uses it and how they live.
Our process begins with observation. We ask about daily routines, seasonal patterns, and future plans. A gardener needs different systems than a mechanic. A family with young athletes requires different access patterns than retired hobbyists.
From there, we design layouts that prioritize frequent-use items while keeping occasional items accessible but out of the way. We consider traffic flow, lighting, and the physical effort required to retrieve stored items.
The result is a space that feels custom-built because it is.
Beautiful organization means nothing if it doesn't match how you actually use your space. We design systems around real behavior, not idealized versions.
Organization only works if it can be maintained. We build setups that are easy to keep organized with minimal ongoing effort.
You know what we're doing and why we're doing it. No mysterious charges, no unnecessary upsells, just honest communication throughout.
